Esthetician license in Florida

A license is required to perform esthetician services in the state of Florida. The Florida Board of Cosmetology issues a ‘facial services’ license that lets practice as an esthetician in the state. The Board has set out the following requirements for esthetician license:

a. Esthetician license applicants must be at least 16 years old or have received a high school diploma.
b. Applicants must complete 260 school hours in an accredited esthetician school in Florida.
c. Applicants should also submit an HIV/AIDS course completion certificate received from their school. This course must be at least of four hours duration and have been completed within two years of submitting the license application.
